A scheme in which our Northampton and Manchester offices provided market intelligence, development and viability advice, has won a prestigious Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Award.
The master plan, which was produced on behalf of Northampton Borough Council, Northamptonshire County Council and West Northamptonshire Development Corporation, was led by urban design company, Taylor Young, supported by LSH and transport and infrastructure consultancy firm, Aecom.
Master plan commissioned for development and regeneration
The project was commissioned to deliver a comprehensive master plan for the development of the Bridge Street, St John's and Angel Street in Northampton. The objectives of the study were to set out a framework for a comprehensive and co-ordinated programme of redevelopment options; to maximise opportunities for high quality distinctive design; and to ensure that proposed schemes were viable and market tested.
Comprehensive advice secures development partner
We provided a combination of strategic planning, development and regeneration advice supported by local and regional market knowledge and a thorough understanding of what development would suit and enhance the area. The master plan has helped NBC and NCC to procure a development partner and enable initial phases of the development strategy to be brought forward in the St John’s area.
Collaborative working commended
RTPI commended the partners for working together to achieve a number of robust options over a wide area.
