United Utilities Property Services Ltd were delighted to complete on the sale of the former Wastewater Treatment Works at Carr Lane in Prescot, advised by Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH).
The brownfield site was marketed on a subject-to-planning basis and secured full planning consent in October 2024 for the development of 88 new homes. The approved scheme will deliver a mix of 71 homes for affordable rent and 17 for social rent, bringing much-needed housing to the local community in Knowsley.
Charles McLean, Head of Land & Development at LSH, said:
“This was a very satisfactory outcome for the client and the purchaser, with both demonstrating great determination and resilience to work collaboratively towards a positive outcome. That collaboration delivered a regeneration strategy to a brownfield site that will create a new neighbourhood of quality homes for the local people of Knowsley.”
The redevelopment of this site marks a significant milestone in the regeneration of the area, offering high-quality, affordable housing options while revitalising underutilised land.
