The joint venture’s first project will be the £200m development of 300 new homes in Fulham. This is the first scheme to be delivered in the 15-year partnership between Hammersmith & Fulham and Stanhope.
Affordable housing projects
The remit of the joint venture will be to develop private and affordable housing projects including properties that will be sold on the open market and through low cost schemes designed to widen access to homeownership in a borough that has one of the highest average house prices in London.
Pioneering joint venture
Stephen Armitage, Head of Public Sector Advisory at LSH, said: "This is a pioneering housing joint venture showing how local councils can work with the private sector to bring to the market much-needed affordable housing for the squeezed middle.
"The projects combine the ambitions of Hammersmith & Fulham to deliver regeneration and widen access to home ownership, while enhancing the commercial returns from council assets."
