• instructed by a consortium of five major asset based lenders
• to provide appraisals of a fork lift truck hire fleet to be utilised on a revolver basis
• to create financial headroom to support an expansion of the business.

Logistics

• The appraisals were for the fourth largest materials handling hire company in the UK with in excess of 10% market share.
• With a fleet size approaching 25,000 units on long and short term hire,this required a desktop approach to the appraisal exercise supported by sample inspections.

Outcome

• The vast number of assets required detailed spreadsheet analysis and profiling supported by compiling thousands of comparable sales.
• The appraisal took into account the company’s unique position in terms of the contractual and profitable nature of the business and its high market share and utilisation rate, which were reflected in the appraisal.
