The Challenge

• We were tasked with pulling together an integrated consultant team to survey two very large sites, within a short time window of just eight 8-weeks from instruction to issue of final completed reports. 
• The buildings extended to a combined 650,000 sq ft split across 28 separate sites, including protected structures and specialist studios. 
• Our surveys included a full condition assessment of the fabric and and services element, including projected CAPEX expenditure over the next ten years, with assessment and comment on the main statutory failings. 
• Full technical review of data room, including commenting upon construct contracts and documentation for both recently completed and live development work at the sites in question. 

Our Solution

• We were able to utilise our strong regional network to set up two fully independent teams under the direction of an experienced Director, enabling simultaneous surveys of the two large studio sites. 
• We benefitted from having a large list of pre-approved sub-consultants we could rely upon to support project delivery with the specialist engineering and measured survey elements of the instruction, without impacting on programme or quality. 
• Our national expertise in the media sector enabled us to provide specialist advice and commentary on the studio elements of the sites, without having to engage with external consultants. 

The Results

• Our team provided Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, and Valuation services, assisting the client with a swift and successful off-market acquisition during the Covid-19 lockdown.
