Olympic Legacy Park is a joint venture led by Legacy Park Ltd, with partners including Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield City Council and the private sector. The scheme is set to be part of an internationally recognised Innovation District for health and wellbeing research.
Working closely with Legacy Park Ltd and its stakeholders, we provided valuation and development viability advice to help bring the site forward.
With limited comparable evidence to draw upon, we adopted a truly innovative approach to valuing the freehold interest in the 26‑acre site, which had been derelict since the stadium closed in 2013.
We also provided strategic advice and demand statements, reporting on the level of likely demand and take‑up of out‑of‑town offices in the context of the Olympic Legacy Park.
As a result, our work helped to cement the interest shown by Sheffield Hallam University in providing a £14m Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC). The AWRC forms the centrepiece of the Olympic Legacy Park and is one of the most advanced research and development centres for physical activity in the world.
