Detailed plans for the construction of 33 new affordable homes has been approved by Thurrock Council on 21st September 2023. As part of Thurrock’s wider strategy to fulfil housing needs in the area, the plan will see 6 new buildings erected, ranging from 1 to 4 storeys in height.
Subject to Cabinet agreement, the Committee unanimously approved works to be completed at the Broxburn Drive Estate, with the goal of improving the landscape, whilst providing additional facilities for local residents including children’s play space, better pedestrian access and additional green spaces.
Thurrock Council pledges to build 1200 new houses every year, providing high-quality homes for residents in the area.
Fiona Harte, associate director in Lambert Smith Hampton’s planning consultancy team, said: “We are thrilled to have secured planning consent for Thurrock Council for these much-needed affordable homes. Our team has worked closely with Thurrock's housing team and the design team to ensure the proposals received support at every stage of the process.
The unanimous support at the planning committee provided a great endorsement of the scheme's credentials and we look forward to working further with Thurrock to ensure its housing objectives are met.”
