Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has been instructed to sell The Judges Lodgings in Lincoln, acting on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.
Situated in a prominent position within the popular Castle Square in Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter, and adjacent to the main entrance to Lincoln Castle, the Grade II* Listed Georgian building offers approximately 5,392 sq ft of space suitable for a variety of alternative uses.
Constructed in approximately 1820 by Architect William Hayward as The Judges Lodgings, this landmark building was extended in the 1960s to accommodate various bedrooms and other amenity space, and retains many of its original decorative features.
The historic Uphill area of Lincoln where the property is situated enjoys close to 2 million tourist visitors annually, as well as being very popular with local residents enjoying the shops, cafés and other attractions in the immediate vicinity.
The appointment comes just weeks after LSH was instructed by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lincolnshire, to market the former police station located on West Parade in the city centre.
Andrew France, Associate Director – Agency & Development at LSH, commented:
“Our appointment to market The Judges Lodgings is an exciting opportunity for the team and we’re very much looking forward to working with the council to secure a suitable buyer. Not only is the landmark building in a prominent location, it is steeped in history and offers huge potential for the right buyer.”
