In conjunction with the LSH Corporate Real Estate team, the Office Advisory Division and the Retail Division have been mandated by NHS Blood and Transplant to acquire suitable premises for Blood Donor and Plasma Collection Centres in 35 locations across the UK. The original project started in July with the first phase (the National searches) including 21 locations, followed by the second phase (Greater London) including a further 14 locations.
Now in November and only 4 months since the process started in July, 15 of the 21 of the National acquisitions have been completed in double quick time, and NHS BT are now busy fitting out or in some cases are already fully operational from the 4,000-5,000 sq ft suites that various LSH agents across the country have acquired on their behalf – an excellent effort by all involved.
LSH Associate Director, Jon Rea-Palmer said:
“The NHS Blood and Transplant convalescent plasma programme has been an exciting and fast-moving project to be involved with. Given the current and alarming lockdown environment we find ourselves in, these donation facilities are needed immediately to assist in the fight against Covid-19. It is a testament to the team of consultants; both internal and external & Weightmans on the legal side and the regional nature of LSH’s business that has allowed all involved to perform exceptionally and get these acquisitions turned round expediently”.
An NHS Blood and Transplant spokesperson said:
“We urgently need people who’ve had Covid-19 to donate blood plasma and new donor centres across the country, secured through LSH, will help collect potentially life-saving donations of high antibody plasma for transfusion into people who are struggling to develop their own immune response.”
