Lambert Smith Hampton’s (LSH) Development Consultancy team based in London has been appointed to carry out a colossal site-search for major LSH public sector client, Ministry of Justice Custodial Property (MOJCP).
LSH’s remit is to seek and acquire a minimum of three sites for the new TITAN prisons; announced in the Carter Report just before Christmas. Each site will comprise at least 50 acres and will be capable of housing 2,500 prisoners.
The focus is on three key search areas, namely London/South East, the West Midlands and the North-West, preferably brownfield land with good road and transport connections.
David Bianco, Head of the Development Department in London, said: “This is a classic case of the LSH network working to benefit the client. We have organised teams of Planners and Development Surveyors from the London, Chelmsford, Birmingham and Manchester offices to proactively target the major landowners in each search area. As a direct result, we have already successfully identified a number of good prospects and have commenced negotiations.
“We are delighted to have won this instruction in competition to add to the work we are undertaking nationally for this client. We are also looking at appropriate sites near major conurbations and I would be pleased to hear from anyone who feels they have a site to propose.”
